A Journey to make a difference
The Chennai based NGO, Myrtle Social Welfare Network was established in the year 2003, by the great visionary and philanthropist Ms. Saral Shanthini, a professional social worker who has a soft feeling towards the less privileged people. The main concern of Myrtle is to provide holistic support especially to vulnerable children, youth and women. The organization is named after a tree "Myrtle", which symbolizes love, justice and peace. The sole aim of our NGO is to create opportunities and empower the people in need to raise the quality and standard of their living.
The unique strength of Myrtle is its mastery in Puppetry which is highly effective in spreading very sensitive and important messages across the underprivileged Community. It is very pertinent to record here that Myrtle in collaboration with UNICEF had accomplished more than 100 projects in puppetry and also had given training in puppetry.
